Edinburgh Haematology Centre

The Anatomy of Pattern
A series of paintings and printed wall vinyl, which focus on pattern and biophilic form, developed from a range of drawn motifs, inspired by the flora, topography, and geology of the Firth of Forth, from riverbed to shoreline.

Funded by @ELHFfunds, commissioned by #tonicarts at ELHF, curated by @roundtableprojects

In harmony with the new Edinburgh Haematology Centre’s strategic objectives ‘to soften the clinical edge’ of the new facility and in celebration of craftmanship and the handmade, I have created a new body of work in the form of a series of hand painted oil and resin panels which have now been installed within corridor spaces and waiting areas.

These calming, meditative artworks, whilst offering subtle distraction and focused engagement, will also, hopefully, afford patients, staff, and visitors’ room to breathe, space to absorb and process important information, as well as allow an opportunity to simply ‘be in the moment’ as a viewer.
