Red Coral Cartography (2026)

Selected for STRATA, Visual Arts Scotland’s 2026 exhibition at the WASPS Inverness Creative Academy, Red Coral Cartography explores the body as a lived landscape, an intricate terrain shaped by sensation, memory and continual transformation.

Through layered patterns, anatomical references and organic forms, the painting maps relationships between biological and biophilic systems, using the material language of paint to consider how experience is absorbed, carried and stored.

Presented within STRATA, an exhibition exploring layers, histories and material processes, the work reflects my ongoing interest in painting as a site where physical matter and inner experience converge, inviting viewers to consider the invisible structures that connect our bodies with the living world.
